CAD
I specialize in SOLIDWORKS and PTC Creo for my professional work. With a focus on designing computer chassis, I use a combination of sheet metal, aluminum extruded heatsinks, and machined components to achieve optimal performance. Additionally, I excel at producing detailed engineering drawings that ensure seamless manufacturing processes.
Computer Chassis
At Axiomtek, I design robust computer chassis tailored for various applications such as slot machines, autonomous warehouse vehicles, and power plant controllers. These specialized systems undergo rigorous testing to make sure they operate in extreme conditions. We shake them, heat/freeze them, and make sure they run Doom.*

Heatsinks
I work on systems that demand active coolers to achieve maximum performance, as well as passive heatsinks that effectively overcome challenging external conditions. By tailoring these solutions, I ensure optimal thermal management for system reliability and efficiency. Just don’t use them as a BBQ griddle.
CFD Analysis
Using FlothermXT, I have the ability to precisely model and simulate computer systems under heavy workload, enabling thorough testing prior to prototyping. This advanced program provides me with essential data, including IC junction temperature, airflow velocity, and pressure drop. These data allow me to maximize cooling efficiency for optimal system performance and reliability. My PC gets extra toasty when I run CFD. Maybe I should optimize it on FlothermXT.
3D Printing
The 3D printer is my favorite machine. I own a Monoprice Mini Select V2, and at work we have an Ultimaker S5 with dual extruders. I use them to crank out prototype parts and brackets overnight. Also printing Benchies in as many different colors as I can. Currently looking for an upgrade for my Monoprice.
Manufacturing
Collaborating with local US manufacturers has provided me with valuable experience in rapid prototyping and executing projects with tight timelines. Working closely with these manufacturers ensures quick turnaround and efficient communication throughout the process.
Moreover, when it comes to large volume mass production runs, I have established successful partnerships with overseas manufacturers based in Taiwan and China. These collaborations allow me to leverage their expertise and capabilities in scaling up production while maintaining high-quality standards. By strategically working with both local and overseas manufacturers, I can deliver great products for a wide range of projects.
“Get in the robot” vibes.
PC Building
I love building computers because it involves exercising my technical expertise and my steady hands. I have worked on everything from extremely powerful rendering rigs to budget friendly gaming desktops with salvaged parts. Haggling with strangers online is also part of the process.
Sadly the Humvee does not support Apple Carplay.
Military
I was in the military in Taiwan for 4 months. Certainly not a very long time but it felt like an eternity to me. It was an interesting experience I must admit. I was tasked to do maintenance checks on Humvees, grease up machine guns, and screaming “TESTING 1-2-3” all day to make sure the onboard radios work in the tanks.
